Hello

I'm Lisa Nissen.  I am a Certified Christian Life coach (ICCI) and a graduate of Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I am very passionate about helping women discover their God-created, talent gifted, anxiety free, emotionally whole, beautiful self!

Throughout my life, I have experienced a vast spectrum of growth - from emotional numbness due to an unhealthy pattern of stuffing, downplaying, and ignoring my feelings to full fledge anxiety and fear. With God's guidance and the help of a Christian counselor, I worked through a lot of past hurts and began to fully experience the gift of all emotions – recognizing the hard and uncomfortable emotions, sitting with them (NOT ignoring, stuffing, or downplaying), processing them (Where is this coming from? What am I going to do about it?), and replacing them with positive truth.  Through this somewhat long and hard process, a burden was lifted. I was no longer bogged down with the weight from the past!

Just when I thought my emotional health was repaired, my spiritual health was challenged.  I experienced a personal, spiritual revival after reading the book of Revelation. It was amazing and truly life changing!  My new understandings of this book filled me with so much joy and passion as I began to see how this was relevant to the world we were living in.  Although I was thankful for the truth, negative thoughts began to take root.   With the new uncertainties of the world, anxiety crept in and left me sleepless, restless, deathly skinny, confused, and ultimately robbed of my joy. It was a hard battle.  At times, it felt like the anxiety and fear would never end. But by the grace and loving kindness of God, strong support from family and friends, and coping skills learned earlier on in my journey, I am here today. I am stronger in my faith, released from the grip of anxiety, emotionally healthy, and confident that God has a plan and purpose for each of us who love Him.

When I'm not working on "coach-y" type things, I love to be with my family and hang out with friends.  I am a wife to a husband I adore and who supports most of my outlandish ideas. We have 3 amazing kids whom I love like crazy and they tolerate me for the most part.  : )  For the past 12 years, I have worked part-time with my husband's home building and remodeling business as an interior designer and project manager. I enjoy re-decorating anything that I can, being outside in the summer (emphasis on summer) paddle boarding, jet skiing, pontoon-ing, hosting get togethers, camping, hiking, traveling, big fan of board games, snowmobiling, playing hockey and maybe gardening (but it's still too early to tell).
